AGED NINETY-ONE.

VETERAN SALVATIONIST. HAMILTON, June 24. With the record of 50 years as a staunch member of the Salvation Army, Mr J. I). Jremonger, of Rosstrevor Street, celebrated his 91st birthday to-day. Although Mr Ire monger lias been blind for 10 years, he maintains a cheerful outlook and excellent health. Born in London in 1844, he emigrated to New Zealand with his family at the age of 30. He joined the army in Wellington and was the first man to wear the army uniform at Blenheim, where he spent 30 years as a painter, builder, 20 years ago. He has seven sons and and shopkeeper. He came to Hamilton four daughters living, also 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mrs Ireinonger died four years ago.
