PAHIATUA.

PAHIATUA, June 24. The' Pahintua Amateur Cycling Club held its second race of the season on Saturday. Six riders faced the starter for a nineteen mile run. The results were:—B. Fainveatlier, 1; R. Miller, 2; B. AVilson, 3. Recently-a party was given at the residence of Mr and Nil’s J. Beech, Rock Road, Konini, for Miss Doris Hull and Mr Tan Taylor, whose marriage takes place shortly, by Mr and Mrs H. R. AVhitta, Mr and Mrs T. Dcvoy, and Mr and Mrs Beech. A large assembly passed a pleasant evening in dancing and community singing, the music being supplied by Mr J. Stevenson, Mrs George Taylor, and Mrs H. R. AVhitta. On behalf of tho friends of the guests of honour a presentation was made by Mr H. AVhitta, who referred to their popularity.
