GENERAL BOOTH.
OPINION OF AUSTRALIANS. The principal impressions left by Australians on General Evangeline Booth, Commander-in-Chief of the Salvation Army, are their generosity and their musical ability. General Booth, in an interview in London on her return from overseas, said: “They just tore their hearts out and threw them at my feet. Their bands, not only in the cities, but in the small country towns, are grand. I never heard such singing.” General Booth’s tour was a prelude to a two-years’ evangelical campaign by the Salvation Army with Australia as one of the countries in which intensive missions will be conducted. It is hoped that the Salvation Army will evangelise an additional 1,000,000 people by the middle of 1937. •
