SUCCESSOR ANNOUNCED. (British Official Wireless. RUGBY, May, 1. The King has approved the appointment of Rear-Admiral Tottenham to be Commander-in-Chief of the African Station in succession to Vice-Admiral Sir R. G. R. Evans, famous as “Evans of Broke” and as a member of Scott : s Antarctic Expedition, which lie commanded after Captain R. F. Scott’s death. , , , ~ In 1917 he was in command of the destroyer Broke, which with the Swift met and defeated six German destroyers.
