Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 13. Experiencing some trouble with her firemen, the Waimana was delayed till nearly one o’clock to-day. Several failed to appear on hoard last night and a further delay occurred this morning, the men apparently seeking an assurance that they would not be penalised on arrival in Britain. Thomas Carroll Bussell Hunter, aged 50, a butcher, was charged today with assaulting Janies King so as to cause actual bodily harm, the charge being a sequel to the affair in a house in Ghuznee Street on the morning ot March 3, cylien Hunter found Ins wile there. Hunter pleaded not guilty and after evidence had been taken be was committed to the Supreme Court tor trial. King’s injuries aro alleged to be the result of being hit with a broken bottle. Accused was granted a renewal of his bail, but was warned that he must not communicate with his wife or he would be arrested. The Appeal Court to-day is considering for the second time the facts of a collision which occurred near Eltham in 1933 between a car driven by Harolcl Jessop and a motor cycle on which appellant, George William Bourke. ot Eltham, a slaughterman, was pillion riding. Bourke subsequently sued Jessop foT damages and in June, 1933 was awarded £465. On the matter being referred to the Appeal Court the Court ordered a new trial, whicH was heard in February, 1934, when the jury found for respondent. 1* rom this decision appellant is now appealing.
