FARMING AT HOME
THE MARKETING SCHEME. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 13. There seemed a strong current opinion in Britain, that the old system in farming industries whereby the supply was regulated by the demand had broken down beyond repair, said Mr T. G. A. Muntz, Assistant Trade Commissioner for Great Britain, who returned to Wellington to-day after seven months’ furlough in England. Some of the schemes for marketing agricultural produce in Britain had already justified themselves, but the agricultural industry was so diverse that the task of reorganising the whole might take many years.
lie considered that the job of reorganising agricultural production and marketing to a certain extent, perhaps amalgamating Home and Empire production, would be at least as difficult as when commercial undertakings were amalgamated.
