KIMBOLTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) KIMBOLTON, Feb. 12.
The Women’s Institute held a' “group” meeting in the Ball on Monday last. Women came from Makino, Stanway, Cheltenham, Apiti, Rangiwahia, and other institutes. Miss Grant, of Palmerston North, gave an interesting talk on the Waitangi celebrations. “Parklands,” Kimbolton, was <tho scene of festivity on Friday afternoon, when Mr and Mrs Hall entertained a number of guests at a garden party. People from Palmerston North, Feilding, and Mnrton were present. Tennis and competition croquet were indulged in until late in the afternoon. Afternoon tea was served in a spacious punga house. Airs ITall received her guests wearing a frock of navy blue floral georgette. Among those present were: Mesdames, Welsh (Marton), Cameron (Palmerston North), Roulston (Waiuta), W. G. Shannon (Palmerston North), ’Dick (Marton), ITansen, Billing, G. B. Shannon (Whakarongo), Rutledge (Palmerston North), Barnes. Andrews, Board, Murray, Stack, Neill (Napier), Stewart (Apiti), Clapham, W. Beard; Misses E. M. and G. Hall, R. and I. Rutledge (Palmerston North), M. and D. Mikkleson (Kairanga), K., J., and E. Murray, M. Will, 11. Beard, A. Roulston, G. Stuck, R. Neill (Napier), Carey and I. and O .Glasgow (Turakma). Mrs Hare was a recent visitor to Stratford. Miss M. Hall has left for a month’s tour of the South Island. The Presbyterian Church Bold a flower show in the hall last Saturday. A large crowd attended and the takings exceeded £4O. Mrs Neill, of Napier, is the guest of Air and Mrs F. O. Stack. Aliss R. Neill is accompanying her mother.
