PHOENIX HOCKEY CLUB.

WELL SUPPORTED EFFORT. With another winter season of activity approaching, the Phoenix Hockey Club held a dance in the Cosmopolitan Club last evening as a means of raising funds to assist in its operations. The effort met with a wellmerited return, there being about 100 couples present, and dancing was indulged in til] a late hour, modern dance numbers, interspersed with old time waltzes, etc., catering for all tastes. Mr V. Turner was M.C. and tho supper . arrangements were under the supervision of Mr S. Judd and his hand of fellow workers. During the course of the evening Mr H. Clark gave an exhibition of novelty tap dancing, the item being enjoyed by the company, which numbered visitors from Woodville, Feilding, and Levin.
