TECHNICAL KNOCK-OUT.

At the Sydney stadium last night Claude Varner, 9st. lib, obtained a technical knock-out decision in the eighth round in a contest with Micky Miller, Bst. 81b. The latter was a game and bright fighter, but bis opponent was too strong and vigorous. SCHMELING’S VICTORY. NEVER BO OVERPOWERING. LONDON, March 11. The Daily Mail’s Hamburg correspondent says that Max Schmeling has never before been so overpowering. His victory over Steve Hamas sent the spectators' into transports of delight. Hamas was so savagely punished that even Storm Troopers shouted to the referee to intervene in the seventh round. It is inexplicable why he did not. Hamas’s manager revealed that an osteopath sat in the American’s corner throughout the fight treating an elbow Hamas bad injured in training.
