BRINGING THE SEA TO THE SHIP. — H.M.S. Deptford, a sloop of 1000 tons. Was constructed on the bottom of a dry dock in Chatham Dockyard, Kent, instead of, as usual, on a building slip. The sea was admitted to the ship through the sluice gates, and when the water had reached the level of the river outside the Deptford was towed away. The photograph shows the sloop proceeding out of dock.
