WINE NOMENCLATURE.
USE OF REGIONAL NAMES. Tlie Wine Trade Review mentions a report that South Africa has concluded a trade agreement with France whereby South African wine-growers will be prohibited, after the lapse of a certain time, from using names of French geographical origin for their wines. ° The paper comments: “Such a course might well he expected to emanate first from South Africa, whose wine affairs in a general sense have always reflected a highly capable management to an extent, not noticeable elsewhere. If South Africa lias found a way to bury the liatcliet it should not he difficult for Australia to do likewise.”
