FOXTON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Feb. 15.^ Last evening a social was held in St. Mary’s schoolroom to bid farewell to Rov. Father Brennan, who lias been transferred to tho parish of Opunakc. Mr M. E. Pcrrcau expressed regret at losing such a friend as Father Brennan and said that tho people were losing a very popular citizen. Mr Bcrgin asked Father Brennan to accept a parting gift from tho people of the Foxton parish as a token of tho esteem in which he is held. Father Brennan thanked those present for their good wishes and the parishioners for their handsome gift. He had been pleased to learn that bis transfer was to Opunako, but it was with deep regret that ho severed bis connection with his many Foxton friends. Rev. Fathers Mcore, Sullivan, and Ilcggarty referred to their association with Rev. Father Brennan and wished him all happiness and success in his new parish.
