THE LONDON MARKET. BUTTER IN DEMAND. RULING QUOTATIONS. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received January 18, 12.20 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 17. The butter market this week is reflecting a good demand. On the cheese market tlie tone is quiet. The following are the latest quotations, those for last week being given in parentheses:— Butter.—Danish, 118 s (114 s). Choicest salted: New Zealand, 80s to 81s (84s) ; Australian, 79s to 80s (82s). Unsalted, New Zealand about 4s premium (about Is premium) ; Australian, about 4s premium (about Is premium). Cbecso. —-New, Zealand, white, 45s 6d to 46s (48s) ; coloured, 45s 6d to 46s (48s). Australian, white, 44s to 44s 6d (45s to 465) ; coloured, 44s to 44s 6d (45s to 465). MARKET ACTIVE. LATEST F. 0.8. OFFERS. Cabled advice was received in Palmerston North this morning that the London butter market was active at 81s cwt. An offer of 9gd f.o.b. for January-February shipment was received by a Manawntu factory to-day. Offers of were being made on Saturday last, but the market subsequently declined slightly.
