MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
MAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Appearing on remand before Messrs J. TJ. Stevens and J. T. Boswortli, J.P.’s, at the Magistrate's Court, yesterday, Michael William Augustine Lynch, a labourer, of Feilding, was charged: (1) That, on or about August 27 and divers dates between then and November, at Feilding, with intent to defraud he obtained from Arthur Janies Anderson the sum of £l3l IBs by falsely representing that he had tlie sum of £520 coming to him from a family estate; (2) that ,on or about September 25 1934, at Palmerston North, he did forge a document, a letter addressed to A. Anderson and signed “Kathleen Lynch”; (3) that, oil November 15, at Lower liutt, lie did forge a certain document, a telegram addressed to M. Lynch and signed K. Lynch; (4) that, on November 15 at Wellington, he did forge a certain document, a telegram addressed to A. Anderson and signed K. Lynch. Senior-Detective Quirke conducted proceedings lor the police, while Mr T. F. Helling appeared for accused, who pleaded not guilty. Seven witnesses were called, the hearing occupying the greater portion of the day, and at the conclusion, accused was committed for trial at the next session of the Supreme Court in Palmerston North.
