MOTORIST’S ORDEAL.
INJURIES IN ACCIDENT. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Jan. 17. Receiving severe head injuries when his car went over a cliff near the Sign of the Kiwi. Arthur Gardiner, aged about 21, of Purau Bay, lay unconscious for four hours early this morning in what is known as Governor’s Bay. When he came to he struggled about three miles to the hotel at Governor’s Bay and from there was taken to Lyttelton, where he is now in a private home Although Mr Gardiner’s injuries were severe it was not thought to-day that he was dangerously ill.
