LIVERPOOL’S AIRPORT.
FURTHER lAIPROVEAIENTS
PLANNED
The Liverpool Corporation has decided to spend a further £IOO,OOO on the city's airport at Speke. When the extensions and improvements are completed, the airport will be one of the best equipped in Britain. The extension plans, which will take nearly two years to complete, include new control buildings, with a frontage of 340 feet, surmounted by a clock tower, consisting of four floors, which will house administration and booking offices, accommodation for customs, immigration and postal officials, restaurant and rest rooms.
The control buildings will be flanked by two hangars, each of which will house nine of the largest aeroplanes, together with spacious parking places and specially constructed internal roads.
