ARGENTINE WHEAT.

DECREE BY MINISTRY. BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 29. The Ministry of Agriculture to-day issued a decree re-establishing for the new crop year the basic price of grain originally established on November 29. 1933, when the Government initiated its ’ grain-buying _ proposals. The price of wheat is being set 5.175 pesos per cwt., which is equivalent to 168 cents per 220 pounds. The decree authorises the Grain Control Board to purchase on the Government account when necessary to maintain prices. . PURCHASES IN THE YEAR. PLAN TO CONTINUE. Received December 1, 8.5 a.m. ' BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 30. Senor Luis Duhau (Minister of Agriculture) announced to-day that the Grain Price Fixing and Buying Board in the last year has purchased 4,000,000 tons of wheat, equivalent to 75 per cent, of the total exported. All but 153,000 tons were sold, and the board’s losses amounted to only 8,000,000 pesos. The continuance of the plan for another year was decreed.
