GRIFFIN GAOLED.
CONVICTION IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, Nov. 30. Gerald Griffin, aged 28. a salesman, of New Zealand, was convicted to-day and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment on a charge of being a prohibited immigrant. A Customs officer, Richard Wilson, gave evidence that Griffin was submitted to a dictation test in Dutch, Griffin replying, “On the advice of my solicitor I object to these proceedings.” The Magistrate said he would leave it to the Crown authorities to determine when the sentence should expire.
