Mr and Mrs L. R. Dryden, of Palmerston North, who have been in London for seven months, returned to the Dominion by the Strathaird. Mrs F. R. B. Chin, of Rongopai Street, will be leaving early nest month for Sydney, where she will rejoin her husband and take up her residence.
The friends of Mrs Martin Hunt, of Tompkins Line, Rongotea, will regret to learn that she is an inmate of a private hospital in Wellington and underwent a serious operation yesterday. Mrs Hunt’s condition, however, is satisfactory.
Mrs Mary Adamson, of Hastings, celebrated her 101st birthday this week, when she received congratulations from many friends. Rev. 1). J. A. Shaw, who ' presented Mrs Adamson with a bouquet on behalf of the Presbyterian congregation, told her that she was known all over the world because of her aeroplane flights. Later the 101 candles on Mrs Adamson’s birthday cake.wei-e lighted, and she blew them all out before she made the first cut. The Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, made an official call upon Mrs Adamson, and on behalf of the citizens of Hastings expressed appropriate greetings.
