Miss Dearman improved on yesterday’s form, stroking with greater speed and better length. She also took the net successfully. The match between Miss Round and Miss Hartigan was a mixture of good and bad tennis, sparkling rallies being interspersed with bad errors by both. Miss Round won as the result of deeply angled drives and superior conrtcraf't. Miss Lyle was on the defensive throughout against Australia’s hardest hitting woman. Mrs Westmacott has been the outstanding player in the test and was largely responsible for the Australian doubles victory yesterday. Her terrific overspin drives, serves and smashes were too severe for Miss Dearman and Miss Lyle in both singles and doubles. INTER-STATE CONTEST. MCGRATH BEATS HOPMAN. SYDNEY, Nov. 22.
