BOARD OFFICIAL’S VISIT

Matters in connection- with unemployment relief in Feilding were discussed yesterday, when Mr W. Bromley, deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, together with Mr W. li. Cadwallader, Department of Labour, Palmerston North, visited Feilding and met the Mayor (Mr C. E. Taylor), Mr J. B. Purcell (certifying officer) and Mr T. K. Hay (borough engineer). An investigation was made into the general question of work offering for relief purposes in Feilding, the visitors inspecting the work being carried out on Cemetery Road by relief labour. No information. was available as to the future proposals of the hoard ill regard to unemployment relief.
