MASTER BUILDERS.
PALMERSTON NORTH ASSOCIATION.
The annual general meeting of the Palmerston North Master Builders’ Association was held on Monday evening when there was a good attendance of members. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mr E. Anderson; vice-president, Mr id. E. Townshend; executive committee, Messrs J. Barsanti, L. Maskery and R. Moxon; hon. treasurer, Mr A. Stubbs; hon. auditor, Mr W. M. Henderson.
The report stated that the year had again been a most difficult one for builders, but the Unemployment Board had recently introduced a building subsidy scheme which was proving very beneficial to the industry. The report further stated that a deputation had waited on the Palmerston North Guild of Architects, and the deliberations between the two bodies had resulted in a better understanding being at which would ensure the present high standard of architecture and building being maintained and possibly even improved upon. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers for their services during the past year. <
