Meanwhile the Duke of Kent, in order to avoid the possibility of lateness through fog, left London by an early train to meet his bride-to-be at Dover. The Princess is assured of an enthusiastic and popular welcome when she reaches Victoria Station. She will be met by the King and Queen, the Prince of Wales, and her own relatives, and will drive with them to Buckingham Palace.
