MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
SEQUEL TO COLLISION. Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., was on the Bench, at to-day's sitting of the Magistrate's Court at Eeihling. Elstin Birchler, of Sandon Load, Feilding, defended an action brought by the police that on the KimboltonApiti Road on October 21 lie failed to pass to the left of another motor vehicle when meeting it. Sergeant Anglancl, in detailing the case to the Bench, stated that on October 21 a collision had taken place between two ears on the K.imboltonApiti Road. The collision had occurred on the side of the road occupied by the car driven by Harold "Wildbore, of Apiti, and both cars had been damaged. Constable Devine, of Kimbolton, had taken measurements and the facts had clearly shown that Wildbore had come round a corner on his correct side of the road. Defendant's explanation had been that Wild bore’s car had veered to the right and then back to its correct side, but this had been denied by Wild bo re.
After hearing the evidence the Magistrate said lie could not accept the explanation of defendant that W’ildhorc had acted the way alleged hy defendant. In his opinion the facts pointed to defendant heina. responsible
for causing the collision. Defendant was lined £2 with £2 os costs. GRAZING OF COWS. Mrs E. Campbell, of Ashlmrst, pleaded not guilty to a charge of alio wing 19 cows to be herded on Salisbury Street. Aslihurst, for the purpose of being grazed. Evidence was called for defendant to show that the cows were allowed to graze round the factory grounds at Aslihurst, but the Magistrate upheld the charge, defendant being fined £1 with £1 fOs costs. R A fiRIT BESTR UCTION. E. A. Payton, of Apiti, was fined £2 and £3 3s for failing to clear his land of rabbits as required by the Act.
