UNIQUE BROADCAST.
LAUNCHING BY RADIO. DOMINION TO IRELAND. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 21. At 10.30 p.m. on Thursday the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, by pressing a button at Government House, will release an electric impulse which will launch the liner New Zealand Star at the shipbuilding yards of Harland and Wolff, Belfast. Prior to the actual launching His Excellency will speak concerning the development of trade between the United Kingdom and New Zealand and his remarks will be heard by those assembled at the actual launching on the other side of the world. The ceremony will also be broadcast in New Zealand. It will commence at 10.25 p.m., this time coinciding with the time set for the ceremony at Belfast, namely. 10.25 a.m. on the morning of November 22.
The New Zealand Star is the second of three ships which are the latest addition to a fleet for the carrying trade between the Dominion ancl the United Kingdom. These vessels have been specially designed for carrying cargoes of chilled beef. This will be the first time in New Zealand that a launching of this nature will he carried out.
