SECONDARY SCHOOLS CEREMONIES. The announcement was made by Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., when opening the garden party held at the Palmerston North Girls’ High School this afternoon, that he had received a letter from Sir Cecil Day, official secretary to His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral, Lord Bledisloe, in reply to an invitation extended to His Excellency to be the official speaker at the break-ing-up ceremonies of the Technical School and the Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools at this centre.

His Excellency had kindly consented to come to Palmerston North for the functions, the date for which had been fixed at December 11. It was not yet known whether it would 'be possible for the Lady Bledisloe to accompany the Governor-General.
