The friends of Mrs John Oliver, -who has been seriously ill for severnl months, will be glad to learn that she has shown a marked improvement in health.
Mrs F. Holdsworth," of Wellington, has been staying with her-sister, Mrs L. B. Wall, of Kairanga, for the wedding of Miss Olga Wall. Miss K. Holdsworth is the guest of Mrs W. Knight, Kairanga.
Visiting Palmerston North for the wedding last evening of Miss Olga Wall, Mrs A. J. Reid, of Gisborne, is the guest of Mrs J. W. Perry (Feeding). The engagement is announced in an exchange of Isabella Jessie, third daughter of Mr and Mrs B. S. Grant, “Morven Hills,” Dannevirke, to Kelvin C. Brechin, of Mangamutu, Pahiatua.
Mrs Mary Ann Adamson, the Hastings centenarian, celebrated her one hundred and first birthday yesterday, and entered upon her hundredth year of residence in New Zealand. She is in great spirits, and her health is remarkable. Mrs Adamson was born in Tasmania, and came to New Zealand with her parents when she was two years old. For some time she lived with her people in the Bay of Islands and in Auckland City, and went to Hawke’s Bay in 1861. The only remaining member of her family is her son, Mr James Adamson, who is 76 years of age, and who is still actively at work as a builder.
