AIELBOURNE, Nov. 20. With easy stroke play the Brown* Ponsford partnership of 103 put Woodfull’s team well on the way to victory in the benefit match to Woodfull and Ponsford, and the team finally won by seven wickets.
Brown’s easy swings, cuts and glides were the perfection of timing. Nagel was the first bowler who compelled respect on an easy wicket, and scoring slowed down. Ponsford’s downfall was brought about wdien he slashed at a rising off-ball from McCormick. It failed to keep down and was easily caught by Hill. LONDON, Nov. 20. Duleepsinhji is sailing for India, tomorrow. Sixty cricket bats for friends are included in his luggage. He says he is taking no risks with his health, and will certainly play no county cricket next year, but may possibly do so in the season after. He is going to see his brother, the Alaharajah of Nawanagar, and may afterwards enter poltics.
