CRICKET.

A cricket team from the Palmerston North section of the P. and T. Department journeyed to Pahiatua at the week-end to play a match with a team drawn from the departmental officers stationed at that centre. Palmerston North reached 97 in their innings, .Nansett making 47. When five overs had been sent down to the Pahiatua batsmen the match was abandoned owing to rain. The individual scores by the Palmerston North team were as follow:—Woodham, c Kitchen, b Ogg, 13; Whitehead, b Douglas, 4; Sutton, b Douglas, 2; Ridley, c and b O’Sullivan, 8; Nansett, c Carrad, b Douglas, 47 ; O’Keefe, run out, 3; McKenzie, c Lett, b Boyens, 4; Griffin, c and b Boynes, 0; Mclvor, b Douglas, 1; Sander, not out, 1; Donoghue, b Carrad, 4; extras. 10; total 97. Bowling analysis: Douglas, 4 for 26; Carrad, 1 for 9: Ogg, 1 for 20; O’Sullivan, 1 for 21; Boynes, 2 for 10.
