WAR DEBTS QUESTION.
AUCKLAND, Nov. 19. “Now that President Roosevelt has been returned to power there will be a settlement of war debts,” said Rev. Dr. James Moffatt, of New York, -who arrived by the Mariposa from Sydney. “Congress, however, like all Congresses, will be difficult to move. “Many Americans doubt the wisdom of the policy of President Roosevelt ITnd his advisors, but the people have great- confidence in him. He is a reformer, but he is also an astute politician. That is where a lot of reformers go wrong —in despising politics. But in-a country like the United States politics are essential.”
