SHANNON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) SHANNON, Nov. 19. Paraparaumu defeated- Shannon in the Horowhenua cricket championship on the local Domain on Saturday by 27 rune. Paraparaumu made 90 (McCaw 30, Wilson 38). Shannon replied with 63 (Roach 32, Leighton 17). Dissatisfaction over the organising of the Manson and Barr Cup fixtures is expressed in local bowling circles. Advice was received on November 8 that the challengers were Manawatu and Shannon. This meant that Shannon’s game would be held last Saturday, and all local arrangements were made accordingly.! A private telephone message on Friday evening was the only intimation the local club received that the game could not be played owing to the Manawatu fixture being postponed from the previous week. Mesdames Snelling, Picard, Brann, Moynihan, Blaikie and Roach will play in an interciub croquet match against Woodville on the Manawatu green next ThursA. H. Morgan and Mr J. T. Bovis attended the jubilee of tho Terraco End School, Palmerston North.
