LESSON FROM MANOEUVRES.
LONDON, Nov. 4. The Daily Mail contends that the lesson trom the manoeuvres on Saturday is that had Britain been actually at war it is doubtful whether she would at present have a navy. It had been shown how ridiculously easy a small number of war ’planes could defeat a strong naval force. The Daily Mail cites Lord Bothermere’s contention that the day of the warship is over. The desperate deficiency in war ’planes had placed England iii deadly peril, and the Government must immediately start building thousands.
