HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES.
MILE EVENTS DECIDED
Iu accordance with the practice of running off the distance races on other than sports day, the championship and handicap mile events of the Palmerston North Boys’ High School were contested yesterday, when I. Hearsey and H. Scott won tho titles in their respective divisions. The results of the four events were as under: —
Junior handicap mile. —V. Nix (.10 yds) 1, C. Aikman (20yds) 2, C. McCulloch (scr.) 3. Time, 5.42. Senior handicap mile.—o. Davies (30yds.) 1, G. J. Annear (scr.) 2, A. Johnstone (20yds.) 3. Time, 5.35 4-5.
Senior championship mile.-—I. Heqrsey (Albion) 1, E. Miller (Phoenix) 2, E. Culpan (Phoenix) 3. K. Fletcher (Phoenix) 4. Time, 4.52 1-5. Junior championship mile. —H. Scott (Albion) 1. A. Campbell (Phoenix) 2, T. Langley (Tvia Ora) 3, K. Sutton (Gordon) 4. Time, 5.23 2-5.
