INTEREST RATES.
BANK OF NEW SOUTH WALES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 2. . The Bank of New South Wales to-day reduced the rates of interest allowed on fixed deposits by one-half per cent., thus coming into line with the other trading banks. With regard to the rate of interest on overdrafts, which, as announced yesterday by the other five banks, will be reduced as from November 30 from 5 per cent, to 4i per cent, as the minimum rate on best accounts, the Bank of New South Wales announces that it is not at present quoting a minimum rate. All rates of interest are arraged between the bank and its clients.
