Holmes Runnicles added his congratulations on behalf of the assembled choirs. . . Rev D J. Davies, vicar of St. Peter’s Church, Terrace End, said it was indeed opportune that Canon Petries first acts as archdeacon should be carried out at All Saints’ before all the clergy of his area. He added that there would have been disappointment if the choice of archdeacon had fallen on any shoulders but those of Canon Petrie Canon Petrie briefly replied to the congratulations extended.
