REDUCED TARIFF.

NEWFOUNDLAND DECISION. ST. JOHNS (Newfoundland), Oct. 31. Tariff reductions totalling 650,000 dollars on the basis of last year’s imports were announced to-night, to become effective on December 31, by Mr Thomas Lodge, Commissioner of Public Utilities. He noted a marked improvement in the country’s economic condition, and said that he hoped that, with further prosperity, further reductions would be possible next year.
