THE LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. At 2 p.m. (correct time) it was 70 in the shade, a light rain falling, but in the next five hours it was down to 50—a drop of 20 deNice light rains fell for eight days and 1.11 inches were registered, with beautiful weather, no wind to speak of and just a cold patch now and then. On the 21st it down to do degrees under cover at Terrace End, but no damage was done on the fiats. Five fine but rather cloudy days followed, and then light showers came again, and up to the 30th the total fall for the month was 3 inches, the 31st was simply a glorious day; no wind, not a cloud in the blue sky and. the barometer up to 30.2 and steady. November came in fine with a tew clouds high up and a light northwest wind; the glass high and steady, and the temperature 60 deg. at 9 a.m. THE RAINFALL.
