TENNIS CHAMPION.

PERRY AT AUCKLAND. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nor. 2. The champion tennis player, E. J. Perry, arrived at Auckland by the Mariposa to-day. He is en route to the Melbourne Centenary. He refused to discuss the question of whether he will turn professional, saving he was “fed up'' with the talk about it, but G. P. Hughes, the man-ager-captain of the team, said he knew Perry had never received an offer that was acceptable to him. Perry could not make a decision when nothing definite had been offered him. After his Australian tour Perry is going back to England, via America, and he said to-day he may find time to play in the New Zealand tennis championships.
