MELBOURNE ITEMS.
VOITRE TO RIDE MARABOU IN DERBY. MELBOURNE, Oct. 31. K. Voitre is to ride Marabou in tho Derby. Perlect Idea is returning to Now Zealand this week. D. Munro is definitely riding Peter Pan in the Melbourne Cup, and S. Davidson Rogilla. Gaterina has been retired to the stud. Teak, in charge of trainer A. Brady, returned to New Zealand to-day. M. McCarten rides Turbine in tho Cantala Stakes, Homer in the Maribyrnong Plate, and Theo in the Derby. Pactolus crashed while schooling over the Flemington fences to-day. He is expected to be all right for the Cup Steeple. Roy Reed rides Golden Promise and J. Barry Timurkhan in the Maribyrnong Plato.
