MELROSE TO PROCEED
Received October 30, 8.5 a.m. MELBOURNE, Oct. 29. W r right and Polando, who were stated last' week to have withdrawn from the race, are still delayed at Calcutta with magneto trouble. Melrose is leaving Newcastle Waters at midnight or early on Tuesday morning for Cloncurry. Mr S. G. White, the New Zealander, who has made a leisurely solo flight from England, has left Darwin.

REPAIRS TO ’PLANE.
Received October 30, 10.15 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 29,
Mr D. O. Bennett has returned to London and is. rejoining the Royal Air Force. He left Mr Jas. Woods, his partner in the air race, at Aleppo. He has not decided how to arrange for repairs to the machine, which is so damaged that reconstruction at Aleppo is impossible.
