TRIBUTE TO AIRMEN.
BY FEILDING CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. Reference to the flight of SquadronLeader McGregor and Mr H. C. Walker was made at a meeting of the Feilding Chamber of Commerce last night by the president (Mr J. G. Eliott)
who said that the achievement of the two airmen had thrilled the whole of New Zealand, and that their epic flight had shown what New Zealand could do in the aerial world. Both airmen had left for their great task with the full confidence and best hopes of the Manawatu Aero Club, and that that confidence had been justified could not be gainsaid.
Mr Eliott had much pleasure in moving that the committee extend its sincere congratulations to the Manawatu Aero Club and also to Messrs McGregor and Walker on what they had done. The motion was seconded by Mr A. C. McCorkmdale, who endorsed the remarks of the president, and added that in Squadron-Leader McGregor and Mr Walker IJalmerston North and New Zealand had airmen of whom they could be proud. The motion was carried unanimously-
