AMERICA’S UNEMPLOYED

STATEMENT BY OFFICIAL

WASHINGTON', Oct. 28.

Mr William Green, president of the American Federation of Labour, asserted that more men are without jobs than a year ago, despite the efforts of the Federal Administration.

He said that although the Government’s monthly relief payments for 2,229,000 persons were 95,000,000 dollars, that expenditure was “not creating” income to pay their cost,_ and urged President Roosevelt to invite all industries to co-operate in a general programme to increase production and create jobs.
