On Saturday evening the friends of Aliss R. Donaldson, of Oamaru, who is visiting her aunt, Airs H. Foster, of Feilding, entertained her at a surprise party at the home of Mr and Airs C. M. Sargisson. Games and other amusements were added to the dance programme, and an enjoyable function resulted. Extras for the dances were plaved bv Alessrs AI. Pirani and F. Stack. The winners of a statue wa.ltz were Aliss J. Stuckey and Air E. Stuckey, Aliss G. Stack and Mr D. Brown being successful in the spot waltz. The tables for supper were artistically decorated with roses and stocks, and at the end of a happy evening cheers were given for both Airs Sargisson and Aliss Donaldson, who wore a charming frock of silvery white taffeta patterned with roses, Miss Sargisson wearing a pretty creation of gold flowered taffeta.
