WHOLESALE MARRIAGES.
IN ITALIAN PROVINCES
Received October 30, 1.55 p.m. ROME, Oct. 29. Between dawn and noon 3150 couples were married in the province of Rome, each receiving £9 as a wedding present from the Fascist Party. There were similar wholesale marriages in other centres to celebrate the opening of the new Fascist year.
All children born of to-day’s marriages are entitled to free outfits at Fascist institutions for maternity and infant welfare.
