SERIOUS FLOOD.
HOMES AT WAGGA INUNDATED. Received October .29, 10.15 a.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 29. Serious floods have occurred at Wagga owing to the Murrumbidgee River breaking its banks. Many homes are inundated and tho occupants are sheltering in cattle stalls at the Showgrounds. The water is so deep in some streets of the town that the police have erected “Road Closed” signs. Thirty families at North Wagga were rescued by police boats. Several houses are entirely submerged, Narrandera is a deserted town, its population having taken to the higher ground for safety.
