CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
MANAGMEMENT COMMITTEE
The management committee of the Feilding Cricket Association met last evening, Mr G. J. Fitzpatrick, president, being in the chair. Also present were Messrs T. Donaldson (secretary), J. Dewe, C. B. McClure, M. Barltrop, N. Fitzpatrick and Rev. E. 0. Blamires.
On the motion of Messrs Blamires and Dewe, the president was appointed sole selector to the association for the soason.
Tlie president and secretary were appointed a postponement committee, and in regard to the postponing of matches it was agreed that in the event of weather conditions early proving unsuitable for play postponement would take place at il a.m. and in other circumstances on Kowhai Park at 2 p.m. Regarding the proposed carnival for the raising of funds for the erection of a pavilion at Kowhai Park, it was decided, on the motion of Messrs McClure and Donaldson, to send a deputation to the Chamber of Commerce on Monday night, asking that body for its support and advice as to the best method of raising the money.
CRICKET POSTPONED. Owing to the rain which set in early this morning and was still falling at 1 p.m., the opening of the Feilding Cricket Association’s competitions, to have taken place this afternoon, was postponed until next Saturday. All bowling fixtures were also cancelled for to-day.
