CABINET CHANGE?

THE NATIVE MINISTER. POSSIBILITY OF RESIGNATION. (By Telegraph.—Special to Sfcanclaid.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 25.. A change in Cabinet is regarded m political circles as an almost ceita sequel to the publication next week o the report of the Royal Commission which investigated the administration of the Native Land Department and native land settlement. Members of Parliament have already gathered the impression - that the Commission is highly critical of the administrative methods followed by Sir Apirana Ngata, Native Minister, and the feeling is that quite a substantial section of the House will expect the Prime Minister, as the head of Cabinet, to make a change in control. This belief is supported by the attitude of the Native Minister lumselt, who has been extremely sensitive to criticism and, at the very first suggestion of strictures, placed his resignation as Minister in the hands of lit. Hon. G. W. Forbes. The latter dechlied to accept it on the ground that there could be no prejudgment of his colleague. However, in view’ of what is reported to be the tenor of the Commission’s report, the Prime Minister s personal problem again crops up because it may be taken for granted that Sir Apirana Ngata will again tender his resignation.
