" Two high-speed air squadrons are undergoing special training with a view to making a stratosphere flight to Buenos Aires in the spring of 1935. 'Hie flight is expected to take 36 hours, based on the experience of Reflate Donati in April. It is proposed later to establish a regular service to South America with the co-operation of the French Air Line, using machines capable of carrying 20 passengers at 186 miles an hour.
A cabled message from Rome, published on April 12, said that the noted aviator ilenato Donati, flying a specially constructed biplane, reached a record altitude of 49,813 feet and landed in a state of exhaustion. The instruments registered 68 degrees below zero. When descending Donati fainted, but quickly regained consciousness and resumed control.
