(From Our Own Correspondent.) UTAKI, Sept. 19. At a meeting of the committee of the Otaki Bowling Club, invitations to attend clubs’ openeings were received from riewtown, Porirua, Hataitai, Thorndon, and Foxton. The matter of arranging conditions for pennant matches was discussed, and Messrs Childs and Warnock were appointed to represent the Otaki Club at a meeting to bo held at Paekakariki. It was suggested that, if possible, matches be played on Wednesdays. Binks were arranged to visit Foxton for a gala day on the 24th. The secretary will arrange, if possible, for a rink to be present on the opening day. It was reported that a member of the Porirua Club had donated a cup for competition for clubs in Otaki, Paraparauinu, Paekakariki, Plimmerton, and Porirua. It was decided to recommend that the cup be played for in conjuction with pennant matches, the team beating the holders to have possession of it till defeated. It was decided to open the green on October 13th. A gold medal donated by Mr Coxon, of Wellington, to the Otaki Hockey Club has been awarded to Mrs Seal, who is recognised as the best and most consistent player in the club.
