THE ALL BLACKS.
RECEPTION IN SYDNEY. TEAMS FOR TO-DAY. SYDNEY, Aug. 3. The State Government and City Council joined in tendering a reception to the All Blacks to-day. The Lord Mayor expressed the opinion that the tour would tighten the bond of friendship between the Dominion and the Commonwealth. Mr J. M. Dunningham (Minister of Labour and Industry) said that the exchange of sporting visits did more to weld the Empire together than anything else. Mr A. J. Geddes, manager of the team, expressed appreciation of the welcome. He added: New Zealand has been classed as the “Shaky Isles.’ but you can rest assured that your side will be shaken to-morrow and the public will be given a thrill.” (Laughter.) F. D. Kilby, captain of the team, also expressed thanks, and, in response to a request from those present, the team gave a haka. McLean is not playing for the All Blacks to-morrow as he has a boil on his neck. Mahoney replaces him. The teams for the match are:— New Zealand. Full-back.—Collins. Three-quarters. Bullock - Douglas, Caughey, Hart. Five-eighths.—Griffiths, Page (vicecaptain). Half-back.—Kilby (captain). Forwards.—Hore, Hadley, Lambourn, Hawea Mataira, Knight, Max, Manchester, Mahoney. New South Wales. Full-back.—Ross (captain). Three-quarters.— Kelaher, Towers, Cowper, W. White. Five-eighth.—Primrose. Half-back.—Richards. Forwards. —Arnold, Morton, Cerutti, (vice-captain), W. G. White, Perrin, Mackney, Hodgson, Louden. Mr R. Cooney will be the referee.
